About The Role‍

Max People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist civil contractor delivering fuel infrastructure, underground services, and civil construction projects throughout the South Island.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and travelling for work. As part of a close-knit crew, you'll assist with the construction of fuel facilities, underground services, and civil infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced operators, pipe layers, and supervisors.This role involves working away from home on a structured roster, with accommodation, travel, and away allowances provided.

What You Will Be Doing

• General civil labouring
• Trenching and backfilling
• Assisting with underground fuel tank installations
• Installing service pits and ducting
• Assisting with drainage and underground pipe installation
• Spotting machinery around live services
• Concrete boxing, placing, and finishing
• Compaction using plate compactors and rollers
• Asphalt and concrete reinstatement
• Loading and unloading equipment
• Maintaining a safe and tidy worksite
• Following site plans and supervisor instructions

What We Require

• Previous civil construction experience
• WTR endorsement
• Class 2 Licence advantageous
• Site Safe Passport preferred
• Physically fit and reliable
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work away from home
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Valid NZ working rights

This role involves travelling throughout the South Island on a 2-week roster. You'll typically leave on a Monday morning and return home on the Friday at the end of the second week, with the middle Sunday off.
