Skilled Carpenter | Auckland Airport

Max People are looking for a versatile and experienced Carpenter to join a respected construction crew working at Auckland Airport.

This is a great opportunity to secure steady, long-term work with a company that values reliability, hard work and quality workmanship.

We’re looking for someone with a broad construction skillset who can confidently move between different aspects of the build and get stuck into whatever the job requires.

‍What You’ll Be Doing

• Setting out building works and carrying out basic survey set-out
• General carpentry and construction work
• Placing reinforcing
• Concrete placing and finishing
• Formwork
• Excavation and footing work
• Blockwork and masonry construction
• Roofing
• Security fencing
• Reading and working from architectural and structural drawings
• Organising and coordinating construction activities to programme
• Helping ensure materials, equipment and people are used effectively
• Liaising with the Working Supervisor around materials and project requirements
• Keeping materials stored safely and securely
• Working safely and maintaining a high standard of workmanship

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant construction trade qualification
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements
• Experience across a broad range of building construction
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work well with a diverse team and take direction
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious
• Good energy and a willingness to get stuck in
• Own tools and reliable transport
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug test
• Clean criminal record
• Legal right to work in New Zealand
