Site Manager | Commercial Construction

About the Role

‍We’re on the lookout for an experienced Site Manager to take the lead on commercial construction projects across the Canterbury region. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be driving site performance, keeping projects on track, and ensuring high-quality delivery from start to finish.

You’ll be the go-to person on site – coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. If you enjoy running a tight ship and take pride in delivering quality builds, this is a great opportunity to step into a key role with real impact.

What You Will Be Doing

• Managing and coordinating day-to-day site operations
• Leading site teams and subcontractors to meet deadlines
• Overseeing site logistics, sequencing, and workflow planning
• Running toolbox talks and promoting a strong H&S culture
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
• Monitoring project progress, budgets, and quality
• Reading and interpreting plans for accurate delivery
• Ensuring compliance with NZ Building Code and specifications

What We Require

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of NZ Building Code and construction delivery
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
• Solid understanding of site logistics, programming, and QA processes
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Trade background or relevant qualification preferred
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
