Love solving the problem between the drawing and the finished product?

We're looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to help turn mechanical designs and technical requirements into safe, practical and well-planned project delivery.

This is an opportunity to work across technically interesting infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to the full mechanical project lifecycle while working closely with experienced mechanical and project delivery leaders.

About the Role

You'll work across design, procurement, planning, installation and commissioning, helping ensure mechanical work is practical, well coordinated and ready to deliver. No two projects are likely to be exactly the same, which is rather the point.

Some travel and working away from home depending on project requirements.

What's In It For You

  • Exposure to the full mechanical project lifecycle
  • Varied and technically interesting infrastructure work
  • Close support from experienced mechanical and project leaders
  • Opportunity to grow your technical and commercial capability
  • Genuine career progression and increasing project ownership
  • A supportive team that values safety, innovation and practical thinking

What You Will Be Doing

  • Review drawings, specifications and designs for constructability
  • Plan mechanical work packages, procurement and installation activities
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Support workshop and site teams with practical technical solutions
  • Manage technical queries, design changes and project documentation
  • Monitor programme, costs, procurement commitments and project risks
  • Coordinate quality assurance, testing, commissioning and handover
  • Work across mechanical, civil, electrical and process interfaces
  • Build strong relationships across project and delivery teams

What We RequireWe're looking for someone with solid mechanical engineering knowledge, practical thinking and a genuine interest in growing their project delivery capability. You'll ideally bring:

  • Mechanical engineering or relevant project engineering experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Practical problem-solving ability and good attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors or site activities
  • An understanding of procurement, programme and project delivery
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug Test

You don't need to tick every box. If you have relevant mechanical experience, practical strengths and the ambition to grow into greater project responsibility, we'd like to hear from you.
