About The Role

‍Max People are recruiting for an experienced Leading Hand Formwork Carpenter to join a major construction project based in Methven.This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys leading from the front, and has the ability to mentor and guide a small crew while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and quality.You’ll play a key role in delivering project outcomes, remaining hands-on with the installation and assembly of Doka formwork systems while supporting site management and leading a small team.

The project will commence with an initial 3-week period travelling to and from site daily, followed by approximately 10 additional weeks where a working away allowance of $100 per day will be paid.

With 6-day work weeks, long hours, and away allowances, this role offers excellent earning potential for someone looking to maximise their income over the duration of the project.

What You Will Be Doing

• Installing and assembling Doka formwork systems
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Leading and assisting a small crew on site
• Training and mentoring less experienced workers
• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Maintaining productivity while meeting project deadlines
• Working alongside site management to deliver quality outcomes
• Promoting and maintaining strong health and safety standards

What We Require

• Proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter
• Strong knowledge and experience with Doka formwork systems
• Previous Leading Hand or crew leadership experience
• Ability to train, mentor, and guide others while leading by example
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Physically fit and capable of working long hours
• Happy to work away from home for the duration of the project
• Commitment to health and safety on site
• Own transport and ability to travel to Methven
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Valid NZ working rights
