Location: Otago

1st Position: Herd Manager / 2IC
Situated just 54 kilometers from Dunedin city and a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the adventure sport hub of the Southern Lakes district, this role offers the perfect blend of rural tranquility and access to exciting outdoor activities. Our 600-cow farm, featuring a 40-bale rotary with ACRs and a grain feeding system, provides a modern and efficient working environment.

With automatic drafting and seasonal milking from August to May, you'll be managing animals that are grazed off-farm during the winter months of June and July on our 190-hectare flat farm. Working on a roster of 9 days on and 3 days off, you'll be part of a dedicated team of three full-time employees.

We seek candidates with at least 6 months of experience, preferably including a calving season, although we welcome applications from those with a farming background or a strong interest in a dairying career. Ideal candidates will possess excellent work ethics, reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to confidently operate a tractor and quad bike.

In return, our client offers a comfortable three-bedroom cottage with excellent heating, ensuring a cozy home environment. You'll enjoy a safe workplace with a supportive and pleasant working atmosphere.

2nd Position: Herd Manager / 2IC

Located in the same vibrant region, our second position involves managing a 450-cow farm milked through a 36-a-side herringbone shed with automatic drafting. This role also follows seasonal milking from August to May, with cows grazed off-farm during June and July, across 150 hectares of flat to rolling contour farmland.

The requirements for this role mirror those of the first position, making it ideal for a couple or agricultural students who are willing to share accommodation and embrace a collaborative working environment.

Both positions offer a fantastic opportunity to live and work near Milton and Dunedin, areas known for their stunning landscapes and vibrant communities. If you are passionate about dairying and meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you.

Join our team and enjoy a fulfilling career in a supportive and rewarding setting.
