Farm Assistant | Tractor Operator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced farm worker to join a large beef operation in Moana, located on the stunning West Coast of New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique setting, with Lake Brunner and other breathtaking tourist spots right on your doorstep. Explore world-renowned attractions such as Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks), scenic Hokitika george the glaciers of Franz Josef and Fox, and the West Coast Wilderness Trail, offering some of the best outdoor experiences in New Zealand. The farm manages over 3000 head of cattle while conducting all its own tractor work and silage.

‍Remuneration Package:‍

• $25 per hour + accommodation provided
• Work schedule: 11 days on, 3 days off (Spring roster: 6 days on, 1 day off)

Roles and Responsibilities:‍

• General stock work, ensuring excellent animal welfare and health
• Assisting with calving and ensuring the health of newborn calves
• Tractor work, including feeding out and general farm duties
• Maintaining farm equipment and infrastructure
• Adhering to farm safety and compliance standards

Role Requirements:‍

• Min 2 years experience in stock management and animal health 
• Strong tractor experience required
• Strong English and communication skills
• Good attitude to learn and receive feedback
• Physically fit and healthy
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Full vehicle license
