Full Job Description:

‍Located in Southland, this is a great opportunity to join a tidy and efficiently run dairy farm milking 520 cows across 186 hectares. The farm operates a herringbone shed fitted with ACRs, in-shed feeding, and walkover teat spraying, making day-to-day milking smooth and well organised.

This role will suit someone who enjoys a practical, hands-on approach to dairy farming. The farm completes its own mowing, fertiliser spreading, and baleage feeding, using well-maintained Massey Ferguson tractors, giving variety beyond the milking shed.

• Start Date: By arrangement
• Pay Rate: $29 per hour
• Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off
• Accommodation: Two-bedroom shared accommodation
• Rent: $190 per week (includes free WiFi)
• Location: Southland

Tasks:‍

• Milking 520 cows through a herringbone shed with ACRs
• Operating in-shed feeding and walkover teat spray systems
• Assisting with animal health, feeding, and daily stock care
• General farm duties including fencing and yard work
• Supporting irrigation using a travelling irrigator
• Machinery operation for mowing, fertiliser spreading, and feeding out baleage

Requirements:‍

• Previous dairy farming experience preferred
• Confident milking in a herringbone shed
• Comfortable operating tractors and farm machinery
• Good English communication skills
• Reliable, motivated, and team-focused
• Legal right to work in New Zealand (AEWV not available
