Experienced Drainlayer | $35-$40/hr

Max People are looking for an experienced Drainlayer who can take ownership of a job and get it done properly without needing to be told every step.

You’ll be working across subdivision and land development projects, installing three waters systems to NZ standards and taking responsibility for your section of work from start to finish.

We’re after someone who has come up through civil crews, knows how a site should run and can read the plans, understand the levels and get stuck in.

‍What You’ll Be Doing

• Installing, joining and sealing pipes and fittings
• Installing three waters systems to NZ standards
• Reading and working from plans, levels and specifications
• Leading day-to-day drainage activities on site
• Taking ownership of a section of work and seeing it through
• Supporting and guiding crew members
• Working to programme, specifications and quality requirements
• Ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained
• Coordinating with the wider site team to keep work moving

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
• Recognised Drainlaying qualification and current registration
• Strong civil drainage experience
• Solid understanding of council and compliance requirements
• Confident reading plans and working to levels
• Able to lead and organise day-to-day drainage activities
• Calm, practical leadership style
• Reliable, safety-focused and willing to work hard
• Able to work independently and take ownership
• NZ Citizen or Resident, or hold a valid open work visa
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug test
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
