Excavator Operator | Final Trim Specialist

About The Role

‍Max People are recruiting for an experienced Excavator Operator to join a busy civil construction team working across North Canterbury.This role is ideal for an operator with strong final trim experience who enjoys detailed work and takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes. You'll primarily operate smaller excavators across subdivision, school, council, and commercial projects, carrying out final levelling, detailed excavation, and finishing works.What’s In It For You

What You Will Be Doing

• Operating excavators safely and efficiently
• Final trim and levelling work
• Excavation for drainage and underground services
• Footpath, walkway, and car park preparation
• Working from plans and laser levels
• Carrying out daily machine checks and maintenance
• Assisting site crews when required
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and accuracy

What We Require

• Proven excavator operating experience within civil construction
• Extensive experience operating smaller machinery
• Strong final trim and finishing skills
• Ability to work accurately to levels and specifications
• WTR endorsements preferred
• Class 2 Licence advantageous
• Strong focus on health and safety
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Valid NZ working rights
