With Max People, you can live and work on a New Zealand dairy farm while gaining hands-on experience, meeting new people, and exploring one of the world’s most stunning countries.We partner with trusted New Zealand farms who welcome  agricultural students and WHV applicants every year — providing structured, safe, and rewarding placements across Canterbury, Southland, Otago, and the West Coast.Roles range from general farm work to assisting in the milking shed, calf rearing, irrigation, and machinery operation. Whether you’ve grown up on a farm or are keen to build your skills in agriculture, we’ll match you to the right opportunity.

‍Details:

• Start Dates: Ongoing throughout the year
• Duration: 3 – 6 months (extensions possible)
• Locations: Canterbury, Southland, Otago, and West Coast
• Pay Rate: NZ $25 – $30 per hour (depending on experience)
• Accommodation: Provided on most farms
• Rosters: varied

Tasks:

• Milking and livestock care
• Feeding and moving stock
• Calf rearing and general farm maintenance
• Fencing, irrigation, and tractor work (depending on experience)
• Supporting animal health and hygiene on farm

Requirements:

• Eligible for a New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good level of English communication
• Farming background or interest in agriculture
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
