About The Role

‍Max People are recruiting for an experienced Drainlayer to join a busy civil construction team delivering stormwater, wastewater, and infrastructure projects across Christchurch.This is a hands-on role working on a variety of projects including new subdivisions, roading developments, and civil infrastructure upgrades. The successful candidate will join an experienced crew that values safety, quality workmanship, and reliability.This opportunity offers the chance to work with one of New Zealand's leading Tier One civil construction companies on significant infrastructure projects throughout Canterbury.

What You Will Be Doing

• Installing stormwater, wastewater, and sewer pipelines
• Reading and interpreting plans and setting out pipe runs
• Installing manholes, sumps, and chambers
• Laser levelling and checking pipe grades
• Carrying out trench work and ensuring safe excavation practices
• Working around excavators and heavy machinery
• Completing pressure testing and inspections
• Ensuring all work meets council and project specifications
• Maintaining a safe and tidy worksite

What We Require

• Minimum 3 years' drainlaying experience
• Experience installing concrete, PVC, and PE pipelines
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• Strong understanding of grades and levels
• Physically fit and reliable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Current Drainlayer Registration preferred but not essential
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence
• WTR endorsement advantageous
• Confined Space certification preferred
• Site Safe Passport preferred
• First Aid certification advantageous
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Valid NZ working rights
