Job Description

Looking for a dairy farming job in New Zealand?We have opportunities available on a well-run, family-owned dairy farm in Southland, starting in April and May, with positions available for both tractor driver / dairy assistant roles and general dairy crew members.These roles suit candidates wanting a 6-12-month placement, however experienced operators may also be considered for shorter winter contracts (2-4 months).This is a great opportunity to work on a progressive New Zealand dairy farm, gain experience across all aspects of the system, and enjoy the lifestyle that comes with farming in one of the most scenic parts of the country.Farm Details

  • Location: Southland, New Zealand
  • 850 cows
  • Split calving system
  • 54-bail rotary with automatic cup removers
  • Allflex collars for animal health & mating
  • Run-off blocks for young stock
  • Own machinery used for cultivation, silage & groundwork
  • Young, social, supportive team
  • Regular social activities, Young Farmers & local events

The farm is located with easy access to beaches, fishing, hunting, hiking, and Queenstown only a couple of hours away, making this a great base to explore New Zealand while working.

Requirements

  • Previous dairy farming experience required
  • Tractor experience required for machinery roles
  • Good English communication
  • Physically fit and reliable
  • Able to work early mornings and outdoors
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Full driver licence preferred
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand (AEWV not available)
