Full Job Description:

‍Located close to Winton, Southland, this role offers the chance to work across two neighbouring dairy farms with similar systems and a well-organised setup. Together, the farms milk 680 cows across 200 hectares, using a modern 54-bail rotary shed equipped with ACRs, Protrack, automatic teat spraying, and auto drafting.

This position would suit someone looking for stability, strong on-farm systems, and a positive team environment. With another property next door and shared accommodation options, this role is ideal for friends or a couple wanting to live and work together.

• Start Date: By arrangement
• Permanent Role
• Salary: $65,000 per annum
• Roster: 7 days on / 2 off, 7 on / 2 off, 7 on / 3 off
• Accommodation: Three-bedroom house provided
• Vehicle: Farm vehicle available for use
• Location: Close to Winton, Southland

Tasks:‍

• Milking 680 cows through a modern 54-bail rotary shed
• Supporting daily animal health and welfare
• Effluent management using a Cobra effluent irrigator
• General farm duties including feeding out, fencing, and stock movement
• Maintaining shed hygiene, plant wash, and safety standards
• Working collaboratively across two farms with shared systems

Requirements:‍

• Previous dairy farming and rotary shed experience preferred
• Confident with milking systems and animal handling
• Good level of English communication
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Legal right to work in New Zealand (AEWV not available)
• Full driver license preferred
