About The Role:

‍Max People have an opportunity to work for a family-owned farm in Winton, an amazing little town in the heart of rural Southland rich in agriculture. Southland is one of those untouched places and is home to much of New Zealand’s most dramatic, awe-inspiring and iconic wild places and wildlife. On your days off everything is right at your doorstep.

This position starts early May and although our client is looking for someone for the 2024 -2025 season, they are also open to someone looking for a 6-month experience in New Zealand.

Milking 800 in a 50-bale rotary, with modern technology such as; ACR, Protrack drafting, Auto teat spray system, and Cow Manager Alert system. Roster of Jun/July 5:2, Aug/Sep 6:1, Oct – May 6:2

Roles & Responsibilities:‍

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the dairy farm
• Bringing cows in, milking, wash down.
• Monitor and maintain the health and wellbeing of the herd.
• Assist with calving, vaccinations, and general animal husbandry tasks.
• Assist in Manage grazing rotations and pasture quality
• Setting up fences and general farm work
• Maintain and operate farm machinery and equipment.

Role Requirements:‍

• Prior experience in dairy farming is essential.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour in various weather conditions.
• A natural affinity with animals
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Pass a drug test.
• Current license
• Reliable transport
