Commercial Carpenters | Timaru

About The Role

Max People are looking for experienced Commercial Carpenters to join established crews working across Timaru and South Canterbury. You'll be involved across a range of commercial projects, from structural framing and formwork through to linings, fit-outs, and finishing work.

You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople who take pride in quality workmanship, know their way around a commercial site, and understand the importance of getting the details right.

This is long-term, full-time work with consistent hours, giving you the stability to focus on the job rather than wondering where the next project is coming from. You'll stay local, work with reputable commercial contractors, and have the opportunity to put your skills to work on projects you can be proud of. I

What You Will Be Doing

• Commercial framing and structural carpentry
• Formwork and concrete-related carpentry
• Linings and interior fit-out work
• Reading and interpreting construction plans
• Accurate set-out, measurements, and levels
• Working through different stages of commercial builds
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and finish
• Working safely and effectively alongside other trades

What We Require

• Proven commercial carpentry experience
• Confident reading and interpreting plans
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods
• Excellent workmanship and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
• Own tools and reliable transport
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
