Max People are looking for an experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Driver to join a major civil construction team working across Southland.

You'll be transporting aggregates, spoil, fill, machinery, and construction materials between busy civil project sites, helping keep crews, plant, and projects moving. You'll be operating modern, well-maintained equipment and working alongside experienced site teams on significant infrastructure projects.

This isn't just about getting from A to B. You'll play an important part in keeping major civil projects running smoothly, with the variety of different sites and loads keeping the work interesting.

With $32–$38 per hour, consistent full-time work, a strong workload and potential permanent opportunities, this is a great move for an experienced Class 5 driver looking for stability and quality equipment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Safely operating Class 5 truck and trailer units
• Transporting aggregates, spoil, fill, and construction materials
• Loading and unloading machinery when required
• Reversing and manoeuvring safely around busy construction sites
• Completing daily pre-start and vehicle safety checks
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and compliance
• Completing transport and delivery documentation
• Working closely with site supervisors and dispatch teams
• Assisting the wider site crew during quieter periods when required
• Maintaining high standards of load restraint and site safety

What We Require

• Proven Class 5 Truck & Trailer driving experience
• Civil construction transport experience preferred
• Confident reversing and manoeuvring trailers on construction sites
• Strong understanding of load restraint requirements
• Full Class 5 NZ Driver Licence – essential
• WTR endorsement preferred
• Dangerous Goods endorsement advantageous
• Site Safe Passport preferred
• Forklift endorsement advantageous
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Valid NZ working rights
