Class 4 Civil Driver | Central Otago

Love driving trucks but don't mind getting your boots dirty?

Max People are looking for experienced Class 4 Truck Drivers to join busy civil construction crews across Central Otago.

This isn't a sit-in-the-cab-all-day kind of gig! You'll be carting materials, operating truck and trailer units, helping keep projects moving and jumping out to lend the crew a hand when needed.

With everything from subdivisions to infrastructure projects on the go, there's plenty to keep you busy!

‍The job kicks off 9 November 2026 for approximately 5 weeks, with the possibility of work continuing through to the end of the year.

What You'll Be Doing

• Driving truck and trailer units safely and efficiently
• Loading, carting and spreading materials across civil sites
• Transporting materials and equipment between projects
• Operating rollers, loaders, compactors and excavators where experienced and authorised
• Jumping in with general civil labouring and site duties
• Completing daily vehicle checks and looking after equipment
• Following site safety procedures and keeping work areas tidy

What We're Looking For

• Full, clean NZ Class 4 driver's licence
• Sound logbook knowledge and understanding of driving hours
• Experience carting, loading and spreading materials
• Civil construction experience preferred
• Small plant operating experience a bonus
• Happy to get out of the cab and give the crew a hand
• Reliable, practical and safety-conscious attitude
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
