Civils Foreperson | Canterbury Projects

About the Role
Max People are on the lookout for an experienced Civils Foreperson to join one of Canterbury’s leading civil construction teams. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take charge of daily site operations, keeping people, plant, and progress moving safely and efficiently.

You’ll be working on large-scale civil projects across Canterbury, playing a key role in delivering quality outcomes while mentoring and supporting your crew. If you’re a strong leader who leads from the front and takes pride in running a tight site, this could be your next long-term move.

What You Will Be Doing

• Overseeing daily civil site operations
• Managing on-site crews, plant, and subcontractors
• Coordinating materials and workflows to meet programme targets
• Maintaining strong communication with Project Managers
• Ensuring health & safety standards are consistently met
• Mentoring and developing site teams

What We Require

• Proven experience as a Foreperson or Supervisor in civil construction
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, and/or general civil works
• Confident leadership and decision-making skills
• Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 1–4 and WTR preferred)
• Site Safe or Construct Safe (we can assist if required)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
