About The Role

‍Max People are recruiting on behalf of a respected specialist civil contractor for experienced Civil Plant Operators to work on fuel infrastructure and underground services projects throughout the South Island.This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operators who enjoy a variety of work, take pride in operating machinery safely and efficiently, and are happy to support the wider crew when required.You'll operate a range of civil plant across specialist infrastructure projects including service stations, fuel terminals, industrial developments, and commercial sites.

What You Will Be Doing

• Operating excavators, loaders, and rollers
• Trenching around live underground services
• Final trim excavation
• Bulk earthworks
• Backfilling and compaction
• Loading trucks
• Lifting and positioning underground tanks
• Reading plans and levels
• Carrying out daily machine servicing and inspections
• Assisting civil crews when required

What We Require

• Minimum 3 years' excavator operating experience
• WTR endorsement
• Class 2 or Class 4 Licence preferred
• Final trim experience
• GPS machine control experience advantageous
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Reliable and hardworking attitude
• Willingness to work away from home
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Valid NZ working rights

This role involves travelling throughout the South Island on a 2-week roster. You'll typically leave on a Monday morning and return home on the Friday at the end of the second week, with the middle Sunday off.
