If you enjoy projects where no two weeks look quite the same, this could be a good one.

We're looking for an experienced Civil Foreman to lead a crew on a technically challenging and significant infrastructure project, with work running through until May 2028.

Unlike projects where you're focused on just one piece of the puzzle, this role offers exposure to a wide range of specialist civil construction activities. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers, Supervisors and Project Managers while helping deliver some seriously interesting infrastructure.

Project works include:

  • Sheet and secant piling
  • Complex dewatering
  • Installation of 1.4m diameter PE pipeline
  • A major hot tap installation
  • Large mechanical installations
  • High-capacity wastewater flow management

You'll be responsible for planning daily activities, coordinating resources and keeping a close eye on productivity, quality and progress. You'll also play an important role in developing your crew and helping people build their capability along the way.

What's In It For You

  • Salary package of $125,000–$145,000
  • Company vehicle
  • Health insurance
  • Landmark infrastructure project through to May 2028
  • Ongoing training and leadership development
  • Clear career pathways into Supervisor and Superintendent roles
  • Exposure to a wide range of specialist civil construction activities
  • Future opportunities across Hawke's Bay, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and motivate civil construction crews
  • Plan daily activities and coordinate labour and resources
  • Run pre-starts and promote a strong safety culture
  • Work closely with Engineers and Project Managers
  • Monitor quality and ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Identify issues early and find practical solutions
  • Maintain strong communication across the site team
  • Lead from the front and set the standard for quality and safety

What We Require

  • Proven experience leading civil construction crews
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A practical understanding of civil construction activities
  • The ability to coordinate people, resources and daily work programmes
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A genuine commitment to health and safety
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach
  • Pride in delivering quality workmanship
  • Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug Test

You don't need experience across every specialist activity on this project. We're more interested in finding a capable leader with the right attitude, solid civil experience and the willingness to continue learning. With this project running through to May 2028 and future infrastructure opportunities across New Zealand, this is a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career while working on projects you can be proud to point at.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
