Max People are looking for an experienced Residential Carpenter with strong external cladding experience to join a well-respected construction company working on high-profile residential projects across Christchurch.

This is a quality-focused role covering a mix of external cladding, finishing carpentry, doors, windows, trims, and detailed fit-off work. You'll be working with an experienced team where workmanship matters and getting the details right is part of the job.

If you're the type of carpenter who notices when something is a millimetre out, takes pride in a sharp finish, and can confidently work through different stages of a residential build, we'd like to hear from you.

You'll be joining a safety-focused company with a solid pipeline of work, giving you the opportunity for consistent hours and ongoing projects.

What You Will Be Doing

• Installing external cladding systems
• Completing detailed residential finishing carpentry
• Installing doors and windows
• Installing trims, flashings, skirtings, and other finishing elements
• Reading and interpreting construction plans
• Measuring, setting out, and ensuring accurate installation
• Working alongside builders and other trades to meet project deadlines
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and presentation
• Following all site health and safety requirements

What We Require

• Proven residential carpentry experience
• Strong external cladding experience – essential
• Experience with residential finishing work
• Trade qualification preferred but not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
• Own basic hand tools
• Valid Site Safe or Construct Safe – we can assist with this
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Valid NZ working rights
