What's Involved In Being A Formworker?

As a Formworker, you'll be responsible for assembling prefabricated structures made of steel, heavy plastic, or wood. You'll transport these heavy forms, spray them with oil to prevent concrete from sticking and secure them with iron rods. Additionally, you'll insert steel reinforcement to strengthen the concrete. Once the concrete has set, you'll strip the forms, clean them, and prepare them for the next project. You may also engage in slip-forming, which involves building new forms on top of previously poured concrete for high-rise buildings and tall structures.

Where Do Our Formworkers Operate?

Our Formworkers are essential to construction projects across the country, contributing to the stability and safety of various structures, from residential walls to skyscrapers.

What Makes A Successful Formworker?

Attention to Detail and Safety

Attention to detail is crucial, especially when it comes to following construction plans and adhering to safety protocols. Your work ensures that structures are stable and can withstand the weight of concrete.

Technical Skills and Adaptability

Being skilled at measuring and cutting is essential, as premade form sizes may not always correspond to the exact structure dimensions. The ability to adapt and build fillers to fill gaps is also important.
