What's Involved In Being A Formworker?
As a Formworker, you'll be responsible for assembling prefabricated structures made of steel, heavy plastic, or wood. You'll transport these heavy forms, spray them with oil to prevent concrete from sticking and secure them with iron rods. Additionally, you'll insert steel reinforcement to strengthen the concrete. Once the concrete has set, you'll strip the forms, clean them, and prepare them for the next project. You may also engage in slip-forming, which involves building new forms on top of previously poured concrete for high-rise buildings and tall structures.
