Toolbox Safety Talk: Incident Reporting 2023

When an employee suffers an injury at work and does not report it straight away it causes a lot of problems for all parties involved...

Incident Reporting

Every workplace wants to keep accidents to a minimum, but sometimes they happen! It is essential, no matter how minor the incident is, that it is reported and recorded.

If you are injured at work, you must report the incident to your workplace as soon as possible even if you think it is nothing at the time.

First and foremost, we don't want the same thing happening to someone else and we may also need to change how a task is being completed to keep everyone safe. Max People has a process to follow when incidents happen, as will the company you are working with. It is important for all parties that this/or their procedure is followed.

Discussion Points

What do I do?
What should I do if I have injured myself at work?

  1. Inform your Supervisor straight away.
  2. Complete an incident report (if able to do so)
  3. If you need to be taken to a medical centre. The Supervisor will organise for this to happen or call Max People's Health & Safety, Dan on 022 390 9478
  4. A senior member of Max People or a representative of the company you are working under will attend the medical centre with you.
  5. Dependent on the injury 'Light duties' may be discussed with the Doctor
  6. A copy of the medical certificate and/or ACC 45 form is to be forwarded to dan@maxpeople.co.nz

What do I do if I have an injury at work but I don’t feel the effects until I get home?
