Max people is seeking a dedicated and skilled site labourer to work on a project in Christchurch that is expected to be completed in 12 months. Our client is looking for a skilled labourer to work on a large commercial project in Christchurch to ensure the smooth progression of the construction project by engaging in various tasks and maintaining a safe and productive environment through managing and supervising the team of labourers onsite. You'll be instrumental to the project’s success.The role is Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the Site Supervisor’s and sub-contractors for various tasks that are needed to be done onsite and managing the labourers time to get through these tasks in an efficient way.
  • Planning out who will carry out the tasks, the tools and resources needed and communicating with the Location Facility Manger to get those tools and resources.
  • Helping to get the construction site ready, which includes clearing debris, setting up workspaces, and ensuring safety measures are in check.
  • Moving and handling construction materials, tools, and equipment as needed across the site.
  • Taking part in digging tasks, like trenches and foundations, using the right tools.
  • Assisting with concrete-related work, from mixing to pouring and finishing.
  • Supporting tradespeople to ensure projects move along smoothly.
  • Taking care of routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment to ensure they're ready for use.  

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months working as a labourer.
  • Proven experience in leadership and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and tool maintenance.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
