About The Client:With over 30 years experience in the industry, our client has been providing and servicing traffic signals with expertise and quality service around Canterbury. They deliver all facets of traffic-flow projects.About The Role:To assist our field civil crew with any civil labouring duties on-site as required. This role will appeal to someone seeking on-the-job learning opportunities with an interest in furthering a career in our industry.We are open to looking at Civil Labourers with previous civil experience. The role will involve maintenance of traffic light systems, installation of new traffic lighting or communication systems, and call outs to traffic light break downs.
These are multi skilled role – you will be on the ground most of the time.When not on the ground, you may be operating machinery if you have current WTR.

• Civil Labourer: entry level $26.00 - $27.00
• Civil Labourer: mid-level $28.00 - $30.00
• Civil Labourer: top tier $31.00 - $32.00

T1.5 for over 40 hours‍10% loading bonus for Night Shift ‍Day shift: 7.30AM to 3.30PM‍Night shift: 9.00PM to 5.00AM – times may vary, need for flexibility‍Monday to Friday work – Must be open to working OT / Weekends

What you Will Be Doing:‍

• Trenching
• Pulling cables, placing duct in the ground
• Assisting in raising cables up poles
• Safety observing in-field team during high-risk works
• Assisting in service installations (fibre, water etc.)
• Digging trenches by hand / operating
• Levelling and compacting work
• Operating 2-way radio / radio communication
• Helping with traffic Control

What We Require from You:‍

• Minimum requirement clean Class 1 NZ Driver’s license (class 2 is preferable) WTR would be an advantage
• Physically fit and able
• Exceptional time management and planning skills
• Ability to work both independently or with a team
• A strong focus on safety and quality of work
• Being computer and app-based literate
• Strong attention to H&S
• Site safe - we can assist with this
• Must be able to pass a drug test
